We’re Anna & Gleb, a happily married couple from Vancouver, Canada, and the founders of the May Nights brand.

Let us share a little story with you 🙌

In 2022 , we found ourselves living in Japan.
One day, while strolling through the narrow streets of a small Japanese town, we stumbled upon a tiny, family-owned tea shop. It was there that we discovered something we had never tasted before—delicious buckwheat tea.

We were instantly hooked and started drinking it every day, morning to night! It’s caffeine-free, so we don’t have to worry about that when we drink it, unlike other teas or coffee.

Beyond its unique taste, we later learned about the many health benefits it brought us (we have a whole article about buckwheat's tea health benefits on this website).

After returning to Canada, we tried to find something similar, but nothing matched the taste and quality we first experienced. So, we decided to source it ourselves. We researched countless suppliers in Asia and tried hundreds of different samples.

Finally, following the most rigorous selection process possible, we found that same delicious taste and quality we fell in love with in that little tea shop in Japan!

We shared it with our friends and family, and everyone loved it.
